.:: Work in progress since 1998, the Virtual Archive of Malagasy Music is a web portal that provides bibliographic and discographic references on the music of Madagascar and gives access to texts, pictures and music samples. Links pointing to other websites in the same field serve to broaden the search.

The literature section contains copies of journal articles, books, and music related passages from books. The sound collection includes both commercially produced recordings and unpublished field recordings.

Due to copyright restrictions, there is only a part of the material available to read or listen to online. Copies were handed over to the Malagasy National Library in 2002, 2007 and 2012 (especially copies of records) and to the Musée d'Art et d'Archéologie in Antananarivo in 2012 (copies of field recordings).
